After booking and paid, and even confirmed, lodge still mess up our booking, and had to stay at the Trans-Kalahari Inn, as they double booked accommodation.

The photographs and descriptions of this facility are carefully scripted and not accurate. The place is run down and literally falling apart. The sign outside the entrance gate should be a fair warning with it's need for paint and letters. The swimming pool is about the size of a child's pool and was covered with a canvas tarp. The bathroom and kitchen areas in our unit were not clean and had a strange smell. There is a dangerous ladder in the middle of the rooms leading to a loft area. The wooden steps to the units are cracked and broken. Outside our unit there was a pipe sticking up through the paving that was a real fall/trip hazard especially at night. The breakfast was one of the worst meals I have ever had plus we were charged 280 Rand for 4 of us! Outrageous! The whole incident was embarrasing for me as I had booked on line believing what I was reading. Our group included my brother and his wife, my husband and myself. The best thing that happened was that on our return from our trip to Etosha we were moved to another facility across the street, (supposedly they had a large party booking?)I was dreading returning to this "lodge" but could not cancel per their cancellation policy, so that was a blessing. Also, one can hear the traffic all night long from the nearby road. I am not a complainer, and we travel all over the world, but truly this was one of our worst experiences. I advise fellow travellers to look at other places in the area, including the Trans Kalahari Inn across the way where we spent our second night.

We did not find the lodge comfortable at all the beds are old and lump and there was a mouse that fell from the thatch onto my bed bleeding out of its behind. Well the bedding was replaced. I think they rate themselves as a 4 star place. but no ways are they. I would like to know were they get there ratings from. Please.

The place looked as if it could do with a bit of gardening - ie tidy up the grass verges. In our lodge two lights were not working. The restaurant although inviting offered no choice of food - but the service was good. With a little bit of concentrated management the place could reach 4 star!

We stayed for one night in this resort. The place is fine, house also and the breakfast is good. It would be ok if the are more lights outside so the walk to lodge is better.
