Bluewater Bay Beachfront Townhouse

We recently stayed at Bluewater Bay Beachfront Townhouse. The townhouse was comfortably situated on the beach with calming views all round. As it was only my mom and myself utilising the facility, and my Mom being of age, Shirin was kind enough to re-arrange our sleeping arrangements on our arrival. At the outset there was extreme confusion about what the deposit amount should be. In hindsight one understands why. Let me start with what you can expect. On arrival you won't be able to close and lock the garage door. Not only does this put your car at risk being broken into or stolen, but rats help themselves to car parts that will need costly replacement on your return home. Sitting down and enjoying a class of wine or champagne will have to be done drinking from plastic glasses as there are no proper glass wine glasses in the house. This you will find out while searching through the cupboards of which the one under the sink is hanging from one hinge. Washing up the plastic glasses will reveal a leaking tap. Waiting for the plumber to come and fix it at 10:00 AM will let you loose a whole day at the beach as he will probably only arrive around 5 PM. So be prepared to stay in, waiting, however: Watching tv was also a bit of a hassle. The downstairs television isn't working at all and the DSTV (as advertised) was only available after three days. Be careful when sitting down to dinner as the dining room table's top is loose. Oh, and remember to push the loo handle back up if you do not want to hear the water running constantly. The very confusing deposit will also not be paid back in full and you might be blamed for something that broke (can't be the upstairs sliding door as we apparently broke it although we didn't use it). Please also take care when re-potting the dried out and weary plants on the patio (as a good gesture) that the wind doesn't blow off and brake a very expensive small flower pot which you will be charged for. All and all, it wasn't that pleasant a stay after all. Especially considering how much it's rented out for.
