HORTENSIA LODGE in Hermanus is a well known and popular holiday destination for long and short stays. Since 1996 Rolf, the German speaking owner, attends to every wish of his guests. Rolf  is a peoples person and many guests come every year to enjoy his hospitality. He contributes much to make your stay a memorable one as he has a legendary knowledge of Southern Africa and the Western Cape in particular.

The bedrooms are all en-suite, spotlessly clean and the beds the most comfortable. Public rooms and bedrooms are spacious and guests remark positively on the tasteful interior. The large gardens with blooming shrubs and manicured lawns attract many bird species and you will be woken up by birdsongs and not by traffic noise. HORTENSIA LODGE's position in the quiet upmarket residential area of Eastcliff guarantees a peaceful stay.

And..... you don't really need a car when staying at this Guest House as shops, restaurants, coastal clifftop path and the picturesque Old Harbour are all less than 900 metres from HORTENSIA LODGE.

HORTENSIA LODGE offers 4 en-suite bedrooms for a maximum of 10 persons. The large garden rooms offer the possibility for a third person on a sleeper couch.

Sumptious and tasty breakfasts are served  and Rolf assists to plan your day so when you travel on you will leave HERMANUS with good and lasting memories .

There is safe off-street parking on the property of Hortensia Lodge.

Rooms are serviced daily and nothing ever is too much for he staff. All rooms have tea tray, wall safe, hairdryer, beach towels, TV. For a rainy day (seldom) there are board and card games as well as a library.

A public phone is provided in the lobby. Rolf sells telephone cards (more economical than cell phone calls)

Fax and internet facilities are offered. Bedrooms are large at 20sqm and 30 sqm respectively and all rooms have direct access to the garden.

Deck chairs and loungers are available when you want to stay around the sparkling pool instead of being at the beach on a windy day. The gardens are quite sheltered from the prevailing southeasterly summer winds.

Daily B&B Room rates:

The large garden rooms of approx 30 sqm. cost Rand 900 (450 per person sharing) Rand 180 extra for 3rd person

These garden rooms have a queen bed and twin beds respectively. Both rooms have shower/toilet.



The rooms of approx. 20 sqm. cost Rand 760 (380 per person sharing). One of these rooms has twin beds, bath/handshower/toilet and the other has a double bed shower/toilet



There may be specials during the low season (May - August) and reductions for longer stays. Please enquire.
