The Klipfontein Bird Sanctuary is 2 km from town and forms part of the wetlands in the area. Chelmfsford Nature Reserve, Ithala Game Reserve and Spioenkom Dam Nature Reserve can be visited and all offer walking, hiking and game viewing.
