About Tenahead Mountain Lodge and Spa

Lying like an undiscovered gem in the rugged beauty of the Eastern Cape, Tenahead Mountain Lodge and Spa offers a memorable getaway to guests. It is situated outside of the charming town of Rhodes and is a great option for couples or small groups.

The lodge is surrounded by the Drakensberg-, the Witterberg- and the Maluti Mountains. It is set on a large expanse of seemingly untouched landscapes scattered with valleys, streams and an abundance of fauna and flora.

This beautiful lodge has seven luxurious rooms, of which all offer twin- or king-size beds. Each en-suite room is comfortably furnished and offers an open fireplace for those chilly winter evenings. These rustic rooms also have large windows framing the breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

Guests can enjoy scrumptious meals at the restaurant, or unwind and rejuvenate at the spa. Winter turns this picturesque area into a white wonderland with snow blanketing the property. This lodge offers a truly unique experience as well as plenty of opportunities to create unforgettable memories.

Spa: There is a spa on site which offers a variety of treatments.

What an amazing destination. Not only is this remote location fairly easy to access but it offers visitors the opportunity to experience nature at its most pure and picturesque. From the warm and welcoming staff members to the beautiful architecture of the lodge itself, Tenahead is a place I will be returning too for all of my life. We could not have asked for a more beautiful, breath-taking or inspiring experience. The food was delicious and our strict vegan diet was catered for beautifully. Thank you to all the staff members that made our stay as perfect as it was, namely Nolan, Shauna and...

Wonderful place, great setting .The rooms are outstanding and the views to die for. However, the food is simply horrible -squiggles of sauce/garnish/ gravy/ whatever do not make for a decent meal.A set menu with no choices provided. We had four thimbles of chicken which were rubbery and probably from a hen that died of old age.The pumpkin soup was edible. the desert a sort of jelly with cream topping - wouldn't pass muster at the Wimpy. The staff were most friendly and helpful, but please engage a chef.

Our stay at Tenahead was much more than we had anticipated. Everyone from top management down were so helpful and kind. Nothing was too much trouble.Thank you all for a most enjoyable time.

A beautifully designed lodge, remotely situated and thrills getting there.Designed for tranquil times. We stayed two nights mid-journey, but it would make a special destination for, say, a week to read, walk, enjoy the scenery, perhaps work on a project.Warm people, atmosphere, log fires. Great for a private party but not if you about to party!Highly recommended.

One of the most stunning places on the planet! The lodge was absolutely beautiful and the service and food was outstanding. We will definitely return.
