Hidden away in a shady, green and peaceful corner of the Stellenbosch Winelands lies the Devon Valley Hotel situated in its own Sylvan Vale Vineyards. We offer authentic and contemporary Cape cuisine with spectacular valley views from the popular vineyard terrace and elegant evening dining in our Flavours restaurant.

The hotel has a 4 Star grading and offers 38 tastefully decorated en-suite rooms, as well as three function venues which are configurable to almost any seating requirement. Other facilities include a Jacuzzi, two swimming pools and a communications centre with free Internet connectivity.

The Devon Valley Hotel’s signature restaurant, Flavours, has a gentle and homely ambiance. It promises to offer guests Cape cuisine in a picturesque setting. Flavours is about bringing people together and celebrating the good things in life. The restaurant’s focus is on bold flavours, celebrating classic, uncomplicated dishes and fresh, clean tastes best described as a concept of food which is essentially simple, yet where flavour always comes first.

In addition to the flavour combinations, the extensive wine list aims to compliment the theme and please the most discerning of palates. We strive to the excellent tradition for which we were rewarded with the Diners Club International Wine List of the Year Gold Award for 2005/2006 and Platinum for 2007.

The hotel's bar and lounge area lead out onto the Vineyard Terrace which is the ideal spot for light and lazy lunches with breathtaking views of the Devon Valley and the Helderberg in the distance. It is extremely popular for functions and weddings, and many a memorable occasion has been facilitated by the natural beauty of the area, the friendly and attentive staff and the delectable, contemporary, Cape cuisine. The terrace is a place to unwind after a long day's work or leisure. If you can find the time for quiet contemplation, some much needed relaxation or a joyous celebration, the Vineyard Terrace is your preferred destination.

Good service, amazing location, wonderful stay!

Everything about the stay was totally magic! The rooms, the food, well done! You can however work on your customer service a bit, don't treat the customer like an idiot!

This must rate as one our best holidays. We are both in our sixties and have travelled extensively over the past forty years. The welcome at this hotel, the friendliness and courtesy of the staff allied with the professional approach of everyone makes the Devon Valley a quite exceptional venue. Congratulations to all concerned. It doesn't just happen - you people make it happen!

06 January 2008

We had a four day stay recently and the Devon Valley and found it to be excellent in every way. We had a manor house room which was very spacious and well equipped with a lovely patio with views to the mountains beyond. The breakfast, which was included had everything you could wish for with hot and cold options. We also enjoyed dining outside in the evening from the lighter menu and having a glass of wine in the bar at night. The dining room had a more formal menu which was also delicious. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We would certainly recommend the hotel and will definitely return on our next visit!

This was a lovely location on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. We strongly recommend a visit to the nearby Spier complex for the African Moyo evening.
