Barn Cabin - Sunbird Cabin A place where sunbirds abound in the bottle brush trees that surround this little Barn Cabin. There is a double en-suite bedroom and a separate lounge with an open-plan kitchenette leading onto a covered veranda. With stained cement floors and simple furnishings this little Cabin has a modern rustic charm and has lovely views of horses grazing in the fields alongside the forest edge and stunning sunsets. Forest Safari Tent Feel the pulse of the forest from your double or twin bedded safari-style tent on a timber deck nestled in among the forest canopy filled with birdsong and scampering monkeys overhead. The tents are small 3 x 3.5 square metres with electric light, beds, bedding, a shelf, a small table and two chairs. It is suitable for two adults (one could fit one child on a camp mattress). Some tents have their own small rock braai and the two that are deeper in the forest have a communal braai near the kitchen. There is a communal and reasonably well-equipped rustic kitchen hut with a forest deck and ablution facilities are in rustic timber huts, one with a gas shower and one with a flush loo. In high season periods these facilities are also shared with six campsites. Sleeps 2 people. |

Cottage - Marimba Woodcutter Cottage Meander along a pebble pathway through a copse of trees to the woodcutter cottages that once many years ago were stables for our two friendly horses. They are set alongside each other, though are privately appointed with one facing east and the other west. They are eclectically furnished and have high pitch wood ceilings, quarry tiled and painted cement floors giving off a cosy rustic charm. There is a double bedroom, bathroom with a shower, small galley kitchen with a bar fridge, a two plate gas cooker, a microwave, crockery and cutlery. The small open-plan lounge has a divan bed, for a child, leading onto a timber deck with a small rock fire pit on the lawn. It is ideal for a couple or a family with one child. Please note parking is a short walk away from the cottages, however, in good weather you may drive there to unpack your car and park it back at the parking area near reception.

Cottage - Gwen’s Glade Cottage This quaint double-storey has a cosy attic bedroom upstairs and an extra single divan bed downstairs at the end of the lounge for a third person or child. This little cottage has a fireplace, an open-plan kitchenette with small fridge, a two plate stove plus a microwave and one bathroom with a shower. The covered veranda draped in bright fuchsia bougainvillea overlooks park-like gardens alive with bird song. There is a small wrought iron fire stand outside. Barn Cabin - Bodhi Cabin This sunny timber cabin is part of the rustic Barn Traveller’s Lodge and Retreat Centre and has a spacious loft feel with creamy cement floors, woody pine ceilings, and rustic white washed walls. It can be booked as one unit for six to eight guests, or booked as individual bedrooms sharing the facilities of the kitchen, lounge as with a Backpackers Lodge. It has a small double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a twin bedded alcove and a double bunk alcove. There is a large kitchen with a gas stove, microwave, fridge-freezer, crockery, cutlery and two bathrooms with showers. A spacious open-plan lounge and a dining room area leads onto a covered veranda draped with bougainvillea and wisteria, with glorious sunset views over paddocks and our two friendly horses. Perfect for a large family, group of friends and coupled with our Bedouin Tent, it is ideal for small weddings, conferences or workshops. Sleeps 6 adults. |
