Are you looking for peaceful, comfortable and affordable accommodation in Hluhluwe, just 300 km north of Durban... from where you can explore the splendid nature of South Africa's Elephant Coast in KwaZulu- Natal? Wildebees ecolodge offers you the comfort of country living in the heart of the Zulu Kingdom. The lodge is surrounded by the Hluhluwe Umfolozi and Mkuze Park, and is part of the Greater Isimangaliso Wetlands park (St.Lucia Wetland Park)Wildebees ecolodge is situated in a tropical garden, amidst large trees and flowering shrubs that attract a large variety of birds. On our reserve you will find walking trails and you might encounter several game species like reedbuck, nyala, suni, duikers, baboons, vervet monkeys, hyena and several smaller common species.

Our restaurant is open daily and serves breakfast, lunch (on request) and a fixed 3 course dinner. After your dinner you might want to hang around in our bar and lounge area where local and international drinks are served whilst listening to the cracking sounds of our fireplace.

Martijn en Marieke hebben ons drie heerlijke dagen bezorgd. De lodges zijn goed verzorgd en het is heel gezellig om s'avonds nog een paar drankjes te drinken aan de bar met hen en en de andere gasten. Vriendelijk personeel en lekker eten. Een aanrader wat ons betreft! Gelegen 10 minuten van grote supermarkten en winkels en 20 minuten van Hluhluwe park. Martin and Marieke provided us with three wonderful days. A little more rustic then expected but overall we did have a good New Years weekend. The owners were very friendly, the beds were comfortable and the pool area was lovely as well as the layout of the entire lodge which is very tropical and relaxed however we aren't sure if we would return purely for the following reasons: The rooms were way too hot as the fan barely turned and for Durbanites to complain about the heat then you know it was hot and uncomfortable! My wife and I were on holiday from Jhb, we really enjoyed our stay, Martijn and his wife were very friendly and did all they could to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The staff were very pleasant as well.

An absolutely stunning setting and good base for exploring activities in the Hluhluwe area. Service in general could be improved - self catering facilities a little rough, dinner arrangements not very organised and servicing of rooms irregular. Hosts did not introduce themselves and so arriving as guests we felt a little lost, although once we knew who they were they were friendly and helpful.
