Whale Cottage provided a perfect base from which to explore Hermanus. Our comfortable room provided rest ; Barry provided great restaurant suggestions, and was a fantastic, and non intrusive host - as well as a whale fundi !

We loved the place so much! Arrangements made despite the owner being overseas traveling presently was superb. We stayed in the Whale Room with the En Suite and Wow, would only want to live at this venue should we go up for another weekend soon.The reality in Hermanus is that every second place /home is guest house and I was thrilled though that I chose this one as we felt really special. Whale Cottage Hermanus is a stately double storey house offering the best whale watching and unobstructed seaviews guests could wish for. The cliff paths in Hermanus, from which the Southern Right whales and their calves can be seen, are just 100 meters across the road.

Whale Cottage Hermanus is also close to the shops and restaurants in Hermanus, and the well-known arts and craft market which takes place on Saturday mornings. The greater Hermanus area is known to be the home of many talented artists and crafters.

Whale Cottage is the first guest house to endorse the Proudly South African campaign.

Whale Cottage is unique in offering its guests the Whale Cottage Loyalty Card , with one night free for every 10 paid nights spent at a Whale Cottage. There is also no Singles surcharge.
