Description
Rock Lodge is perched high on the summit of a koppie (rocky hill).
Here you will find spectacular panoramic views over miles of bush, the wildlife roaming within, the beauty of the lowveld (bushy grassland plain) below, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountain range far in the distance.
Accommodation comprises of our two new Makwela Suites, four Rock Cliff Rooms, and a stunning stand alone, split level Master Suite, which is sure to bring out the romantic in you. The Rock Suite which comprises of two bedrooms, each with en-suite, is ideal for those wishing to bring little cubs of their own!
All rooms & suites have airconditioning and fans.

Rock Lodge - Children
Just what is...
an infant? a guest aged 5 years old and under
a child? a guest aged 6 to 11 years old
an adult? a guest aged 12 years and over
Children of all ages are very welcome at Rock Lodge, however we don't allow children or infants at Safari Lodge.
Children are welcome to participate in game drives but unfortunately are not able to participate in Safari Walks.
Infants are not able to participate in our regular game viewing schedule however we do operate a Kids Programme at Rock Lodge complete with an Ulusaba Activity Book, games, books and lots more.
Baby-sitting is available at no extra cost.
As with any guest, special food and beverage requests can be accommodated, however we will need advance notice. Simple snacks and light meals for children such as sandwiches can be prepared at the lodge on request.
Ask about our Cub's Club to find out about the fun activities we have to offer your children.
Rates for infants and children
Infants are free provided they are sharing with at least one adult.
Children are charged as follows:-
1 child sharing with 1 adult is charged R 2,000 plus the Single Occupancy Rate (for the adult).
1 child in his/her own room is charged the adult Single Occupancy Rate.
2 or more children in their own room are charged the Single Occupancy Rate plus R 2,000 per child per night.
In some rooms we can accommodate children on rollaway or fold out beds. In these cases where adults are paying double or triple rates, extra children will be accommodated at a rate of R2,000 per child, per night. Occasionally due to restrictions on the number of guests and vehicles allowed on Sabi Sand Reserve, we may not be able to accommodate extra children in rooms - please contact us for details.

Luxurious bedroom with Double-King size beds cocooned by romantic Balinese mosquito net.
The en-suite includes free standing bath, his & hers basins, large shower with over-sized shower head.
An outdoor shower with breathtaking views of the bushveld.
A large comfortable lounge which opens out onto a spacious deck and private infinity plunge pool, overlooking the splendour of the African Savannah 800 feet below.
The deck has two pool loungers and chairs with a large umbrella.
Sunscreen and tanning lotions are provided.
A study/library room with complimentary Internet access & luxurious foldout sleeper couch, which could sleep two children up to the age of 12 comfortably.
Each suite has a CD player with surround sound and a selection of the latest CDs.
The complimentary in-room bar consists of soft drinks, juices, mixers, and large bottles of Bombay Sapphire Gin, Absolute Vodka, Johnnie Walker Whiskey, Hennessey Cognac and South Africa’s very own Amarula, along with very scrumptious munchies and home made decadence.
Also a selection of the finest South African wines and, of course a bottle of fine Champagne.
The Filter Coffee, Espresso and Tea Making Facilities are charming and include a surprising selection of Teas.
Each suite has a pair of binoculars and bird and mammal books are provided.
In-room dining will be a unique dining experience when required, complete with your own personal butler.
Including all standard facilities & amenities too; large bottles of Virgin Vie Products, Mosquito Repellent, complimentary laundry and pressing services, Hair dryers, Robes, Slippers etc. all go without saying… & Virgin Vie Foot Fizz and Eye Packs in the fridges too!
