Description
Tiger Bay Resort is situated on the banks of the Ume River and overlooks the magnificent Matusadonha Mountain Range and National Park and is set on several hectares of shady forest on the steep western bank of the Ume River, an area which has been described by many as one of the most unique and scenic parts of Lake Kariba.
Accommodation is in 12 thatched two or four bed en-suite A-framed chalets all fronting the Ume River and set amongst trees for privacy. All are comfortably furnished, accommodating a total of 34 guests. You can sit and watch the wildlife and birds in their natural habitat, appreciate the moods and sound of the water and truly get away from it all and relax.
The focal point of the complex is the spacious entertainment area that overlooks a swimming pool set amongst mature trees and lawn down to the river frontage. Downstairs is a dining area where meals are served and upstairs is a bar and lounge where guests can relax and enjoy a drink. Rates for Tiger Bay are fully inclusive, with three meals, drinks (reasonable consumption) and two activities per person per day. Activities include game drives, game cruises, fishing, game and birding walks with a guide and a bush dinner. The use of fishing rods, tackle and binoculars are
available at no charge for guests.
The nearby Matusadonha National Park is well known for its concentration of game and the bird viewing is always fantastic and then of course there is the Fish Eagle with its famous cry. The place is rustic, the setting lovely, and fits into its surroundings perfectly. Tiger fishing is a big attraction for the avid fisherman and what could be better than being on a boat with the magnificent views on Lake Kariba. Sunrise and sunset in this remarkable place are visions that will stay with you forever.
