Description

The Merry Crab is a delightful self-catering beach resort carved out of the Admiralty reserve which fringes the Indian Ocean.

It is favoured by birders, golfers, and couples wanting to escape the rat–race.  While the studios, casitas and cabanas offer the utmost in privacy there is also the lapa, poolside pub & Potjie Boma for those who feel like company. Units are serviced daily (in the mornings) and all one needs to bring are beach towels. For groups who do not wish to self-cater we offer meals by arrangement.

Character: Nautical (blue & white) theme/elevated wooden sundecks & distinct "bush camp" feel, some have said, of a safari camp, enhanced by natural, indiginous vegetation teaming with birdlife.

Location: Direct beach access - fishermen (boat launching), surfers, golfers (we're a few minutes from several golf courses) & our Potjie Boma lends itself to evening gatherings around the fire.

Beach: Most unspoilt & prettiest beaches along the coast - bolders & rock pools for fishing, coral reef for crayfishing, sweeping bay for dophin & whale watching, surfing/boat launching bay & all linked to make the best beach walk on our coastline.

Honeymoon Romance: The swish of waves & starlit nights exude a special romantic aura - quaff a bottle of chilled champagne on the beach as the sun goes down - watch crabs scuttle into their holes - stuff memories are made of - in fact guests return time & again!

Luxury: Crisp white linen & quality beds - our Guest Book 's brimming with good reports. Commended on our attention to detail, while we're a 4 star self-catering establishment, anyone expecting crystal glass/ chandelier type luxury will be disapointed.

Relaxation: Our guests primarily come to relax & unwind. The sound of the ocean will lull you to sleep & there's nothing more soul warming than to wake to the whistling tune of the Natal Robin.

What an awesome, quiet, private little Casita we had for the 2 of us. Perfect for a real getaway from all the noise, business and irritations of normal every day life! We hardly saw or heard anyone around, which was exactly what we were after. The facilities are great, the unit has everything you would need, with parking included and communal entertainment area, if that's what you require i.e. pool, bar, lapa at reception. Thank you very much. Will be back some time, hopefully soon.

A wonderful week in an excellent location. Staff and accommodation first class. Lives up to the blurb `Escape the rat race`. Would recommend to all for either flop and drop or for the many activities located around the area.
