I have travelled extensively and have stayed in the best hotels in the world, but rarely have I come across such exceptional service. The Long Beach is going to be my annual holiday retreat. I give it ten out of ten.

Hi, we received such a warm welcome, and we were looked after so well it was a real wrench to leave. The accommodation too, was very comfortable and relaxinging. Have only praise for the people and the accommodation.
Best regards,

A bit about this place
The Long Beach (a proud member of The Last Word Retreats) is situated in the picturesque lobster-fishing village of Kommetjie, a short thirty-minute drive from Cape Town. It is truly a special place to stay, offering a rare and rewarding alternative, romantic hideaway. The beach, literally on your doorstep, is eight kilometers of fine, white powdered sand, so pristine that it alone will leave you breathless. Add to this the uninterrupted views across to Hout Bay and Table Mountain, and you have the ultimate unspoilt paradise.
Hotel facilities include a swimming pool, relaxing sun deck with ocean views and the perfect spot for whale – watching in season.
The Long Beach has six ultra luxurious suites all with stylishly comfortable interiors. Each spectacularly appointed room faces the sea – as do the bathrooms! The interior design incorporates tranquil blues and hand painted natural fabrics to echo the exquisite coastal setting. All rooms have air conditioning, heated towel rails, satellite TV and private safes.
After relaxing days spent enjoying the ocean setting, guests can take advantage of the services of the full time in-house chef, perhaps for a romantic private dinner served on your balcony. Included in the rates are lavish breakfasts, free drinks including own label house wines, spirits and beers, and an in-house chauffeur service is available to guests. The personalized hospitality from the warm, genial host ensures guests enjoy the “freestylishness” synonymous with The Last Word.
