The Palm House was designed by a protege of renowned architect, Sir Herbert Baker in the early 1920's and has been fully restored to its former grandeur. The Palm House, A Luxurious Interlude. Majestic palms surround this exclusive retreat overlooking the magnificent Constantiaberg. The Palm House is conveniently situated in Kenilworth, minutes from both the Claremont's and Cape Town's CBD and the beaches. It is an elegant and sophisticated guest lodge, an ideal destination for those here on business or for pleasure. Wood panelling, intimate alcoves, large fireplaces and rich fabrics create a warm ambience. 9 beautifully decorated en suite rooms and 1 suite. A sumptious South African breakfast is served daily from the elegant breakfast room, or, during the summer months, on the patio. Magnificent swimming pool and terrace set in manicured gardens. Cosy library with fireplace and bar. Children are welcome with due regard and respect to other guests.

The manager was especially helpful. When we arrived there was no hot water in the downstairs. So he obligingly let 4 of our group move to 2 other cottages for the night. The room service food was exceptional. Breakfast was delicious, prompt and served by delightful waitstaff. the security guard was helpful and pleasant.
