Facilities

Situated on the edge of a quiet beach lie our secluded self-catering beach cottages. These are exquisite chalets with breathtaking sea views, and we also offer bed and breakfast accommodation overlooking the beach. Wonderful sunrises, the beach on your doorstep and set away from (but still within two minutes drive) of the centre of Port Alfred. Spinning Reel offers a restful, comfortable and secluded holiday break for families, romantic getaways or a stopover for the weary traveler. All our beach cottages and chalets have been strategically placed amongst the natural dune vegetation to ensure each unit's privacy. With no roads between Spinning Reel and the beach, the cottages and chalets are literally a stones throw from the beach.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, basic but comfortable with all facilities we required. We had nice sea views and it was quiet and peaceful.

We spent 4 nights at the Spinning Reels in a log cabin. The place is fantastic with stunning views and the sound of the sea all the time. It is well presented and although everyone says basic, it had a full kitchen and was very well equipped. No heating in the winter nights was an issue for my girlfriend, but fine by me. Would go back and if you want a quite "away from it all" break, you won't find a better location.
