The animal farm, with its generous variety of farm animals, authentic tree house and farm implements is a firm favourite with young children. Hot and cold water swimming pools offer endless hours of fun in any weather. The Sondela Wildlife Centre is a registered rehabilitation centre for the care of sick, injured or orphaned wild animals. Here guests can interact with the animals and learn more about the day-to-day care of the wild animals.

The butler-serviced Sondela Country House offers seven en-suite luxury rooms that is set against the gentle backdrop of grassy Bushveld savannahs, embraced by majestic trees, rolling green lawns and delightful glimpses of fertile farm fields and vineyards. Seven individually decorated bedrooms each feature luxuries such as carefully selected furnishings and fine linen. Some rooms entertain private outdoor showers or baths and our honeymoon suite boasts a secluded private garden and spa bath. A sparkling pool is reserved for the exclusive use of guests of the Sondela Country House.

Things are tough, really tough, and the race for survival is the toughest of all. It is even truer in the animal kingdom. Environmental issues such as global warming, pollution, availability of resources and many more, pose an even bigger threat for our wildlife. Roaming free is an illusion; a wild animal can only roam free as far as the next fence, the next tar road, and the next city boundary.

Countless animals are killed on the highways and byways, beautiful majestic birds get severely burned by electrical cables, owls fly head on into oncoming traffic head lights and cubs get born in captivity. Yes, in the race for survival, our wildlife are the scavengers at the bottom of the food chain. The problem is, since we have taken them under our own management, we remain responsible for their care and survival, especially orphaned or injured wildlife that has nowhere else to turn for a chance to survive. Our wonderful Wildlife Centre is situated within walking distance of the Sondela reception area and will surely capture your imagination. At the Sondela Wildlife Centre, we care for wild animals in distress, rescue and rehabilitate sick or injured wild animals to ensure a safe future for our animals, hand rear orphaned wild animals, provide comfortable safe holding facilities for animals, create a better world by improving the welfare of wild animals and educating people in an entertaining manner to care for our natural heritage.
