On the banks of a river in the mountainous wilderness that is home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife and flora. Malaria free and with a pleasant climate all year round, here you'll find the celebrated big five, the best rhino sightings on the continent, and more than 350 species of birds. Full traversing rights in this private game reserve of 36 000 ha ensure spectacular game drives and an unforgettable experience. The décor in the lodge has been acclaimed by all as being exceptional and unique. As far as the décor is concerned, Shibula is a real lady in the bush.

Lace and crystal subtly blend with authentic African culture. The interior of Shibula gives one a classis ethnic feel. Decorated by Adila, each piece is handpicked and the special attention to detail has given Shibula its unique classic ethnic feel. Each chalet is individually furnished in a different style and each room has a décor style, which reflects the name of the unit. There are nine chalets available.

Dine in a wine cellar, enjoy starlight boma dinners, with traditional potjiekos and other Gourmet dishes and be entertained by our resident Shibula singers and dancers. Dine on the main deck overlooking the waterhole and listen to the nightly antics of the resident baboon troop. At Shibula Lodge and Bush Spa our aim is to provide a haven of peace. And tranquillity to which you may escape for an hour or more to Revitalise your face and body and refresh your mind! Found hosts Bazil & Petra excellent, professional and relaxed. Dean, our guide on the Landie found amazing wildlife, lion catching hyena, leopard with cubs and at night!

I´ve had a nice and warm stay at Shibula´s, the ranger Ulrich was very nice and told us everything about the animals, plants and birds and other things. Very good guy.
