Description
Rose Cottage is a luxury self catering and B&B Guest House situated in the Gariep Dam village about 5 minutes from the Gariep Dam.
Situated approximately half way between Johannesburg and Cape Town, it is an ideal place to break your journey and enjoy the most beautiful surroundings as well as the crisp clean air of the Great Karoo.
Rose Cottage is ideal for the one night stay over guest looking to break their journey or the guest wanting to spend more than one day and enjoy the activities offered on the Gariep Dam.
Some of the activities include superb fresh water fishing, gliding, and game viewing.
Also enjoy a game of tennis, bowl, and put-put or simply laze around one of the two international length swimming pools in the Avontura complex.
Gariep Dam village has multiple stores and supplies are readily available.
The Hotel has a superb restaurant that serve up excellent food at reasonable prices.
The “Green Door” pub & grub is a well known watering hole for the guest wanting to step out and enjoy a cold one or two. They serve inexpensive bar type meals available till late.

Rose Cottage “Hammerkop” has 2 bedrooms with two new double sleeper couches in a double size lounge, can sleep up to 8 guests. Some features include a brand new pool, all rooms have new modern “Samsung” air conditioners, new luxury “Simonz” beds with all "ice" white linen. Secure undercover parking, long “stoep” leading to a pool and a most fantastic Lapa and braai. Let Anène serve you her “Dallas” style breakfast in the morning or sip a cold nightcap or two while you watch the 5p/m bird feeding. Breakfasts on request.
Strictly NO SMOKING in the house and rooms.
Rose Cottage “Rooibekkie” is a modern “oak styled” quaint self contained “Granny Flat” with a unique en suite featuring artistic sea view murals with actual shells. Light up a candle while taking a relaxed bath and let you imagination take you to a sea side wonderland! Brand new “Simonz” beds and bedding, new “Samsung air conditioner. Secure undercover parking. Private braai area and access to the pool and Lapa. Breakfast is available from Anène on request. Strictly NO Smoking in the “Granny Flat”
Rose Cottage Swallow:
Swallow is a self standing Granny flat which is able to sleep up to four guests. It has an open plan lounge and Kitchenette that includes a sleeping area with two new “Simonz” beds with a brand new Samsung air conditioner.
This is a non smoking inside the establishment
DSTV with the four SABC channels.
Modern kitchen equipped with new cutlery and crockery.
This accommodation is suitable for people wanting a over night stay or for guests wishing to extend their stay to enjoy the Gariep Dam and surrounding area.
There is also a separate bedroom which also has a brand new luxury “Simonz” double bed and has an en-suite toilet and shower.
Safe private undercover parking.
Private entertainment area which has a four seater “Lapa” and braai area.
Guests have access to communal pool and bird feeding area. All linen and towels are supplied.
Breakfasts (if required) should be arranged with the local manager.

Luxury 2 bedroom home can sleep 8 guests. Bedrooms consists of 2 single beds in each room and 2 double sleeper couches in the double size lounge.
Shower with basin and a separate toilet, large fully equipped kitchen and small dining room. The double size lounge consists of a T.V (DSTV available but you must bring own Smart Card), DVD Player, Hi-Fi and a sliding door that leads to the long Stoep, garden, swimming pool, braai and 8 seater Lapa.
All rooms have their own modern air conditioners.
Rates are inclusive of electricity, linen, towels, toiletries and coffee/tee/sugar in each unit. All guests have access to the garden, swimming pool and secure undercover parking.
Please note that the rates for Hammerkop differ to the rates of Rooibekkie and Swallow.

Quaint “Granny Flat” that consists of 2 single beds that form a double bed with an open plan fully equipped kitchen, Very neat and clean.
T.V (DSTV available but you must bring own Smart Card) and an on-suite bathroom. The bathroom consists of a bath, toilet and basin. Have its own private braai area and a quaint 2 seater, romantic “Lapa”.
Modern Samsung Air conditioner, heating and cooling.
