Christelle and Byron took good care of us during the weekend. Mavis's cooking kept our tummies full whilst Byron took us out looking for game. On our return, Christelle was waiting to serve refreshments.
We managed to see white/black rhino, giraffe, buffalo, duikers, wart hogs, nyalas, kudu and a few variety of birds. A throughly enjoyable weekend getaway...

Staff, Christelle and Byron, went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Meals excellent.
Game drives with Byron informative and and enjoyable. Careful driver!
Love the atmosphere with all the warthogs keeping the lawns around the chalets trimmed! The resident meerkat and the shy nyala also gave a game friendly feel to the place ! Hope to return sometime.

A bit about this place
Set in the very heart of Zululand against the backdrop of the lovely Lebombo Mountains, our small and exclusive lodge offers a unique bush experience and guarantees personal attention from our experienced staff.
The lodge is situated on the banks of the Umsunduze River looking through the majestic Fever tress to the river below which is lined with ancient fig trees.
The boma area attached to the lodge is a popular gathering place in the evening where guests can indulge themselves in fire gazing whilst sampling our selection of fine South African Wines and regale each other with tales of the African bushveld.
This private game reserve hosts a wealth of wildlife including leopard, zebra, giraffe, white rhino, black rhino, elephant, buffalo, blue wildebeest, warthog, bush pig and ostrich.
We are privileged to be one of the few areas selected for the re-introduction of the rare and endangered balck rhino. This project was a combined initiative of the World Wild Life Fund and the KZN Ezemvelo.
Twenty one of these magnificent creatures have been released into the area and can once again be seen ranging their historical habitat.
Our game drives are taken at different times of the day to maximise the variety of animals one may encounter. Our guided walks offer the more adventurous an opportunity to experience the wilds of Africa in the very best possible way, on foot!
These walks afford the unique opportunity of exploring paths that have been traversed by wild animals for centuries and reawaken the realisation of human vulnerability in the face of the wilds of Africa.
