Cosy, comfortable and inviting -

We were only there overnight en route to the coast, so unfortunately could not spend enough time taking in the unique atmosphere of this lovely isolated village.. However we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and found Pear Cottage to be surprisingly well equipped and comfortable with attention to detail which was much appreciated. We will definitely schedule more time there next time we visit, and would certainly like to stay again in Pear Cottage!

The stay was lovely and we met the friendliest and most sincere people in Nieu Bethesda - it's one of my favourite places in the Eastern Cape and I would definitely recommend a visit! I returned to Stellenbosch with very fond memories of Nieu Bethesda, the Pear Cottage and it's people!!

Pear Cottage is a stand-alone cottage in the same road as the renowned Owl House. It is centrally situated and walking distance to all restaurants, tourist attractions and sites.
Pear Cottage ontleen sy/haar naam aan die verskeidenheid peerbome wat in die vallei voorkom – en pragtig blom in die lente.
Pear cottage is self-catering and fully equipped for 4 people, though provision is made for an extra child. Both bedrooms are en-suite. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed, electric blankets, a ceiling fan and a bathroom... Pear Cottage – die huisie tussen die peerbome

Die sitkamer het ‘n keramiek vuurherd, lugreëling, TV, DSTV (bring u eie DSTV “smart card”) en ‘n DVD speler. Daar is verskeie tydskrifte om deur te blaai, boeke om te lees en bordspeletjies om die kinders mee besig te hou.
Die kombuis is ten volle toegerus met mikrogolfoond, ys- en vrieskas, oond en plate sowel as ander items nodig vir ‘n korter of langer verblyf. Buite is ‘n tuintafel en –stoele en ‘n Weber braai.
The cottage is fully serviced once a day at a time that is convenient to you.
