Misty Mountain is a 280 hectare South African Natural Heritage Site situated on the spectacular Long Tom Pass, 31 kilometres from Lydenburg and 24 kilometres from Sabie. Perched at an altitude of 1700 metres above sea level in a malaria-free area, Misty Mountain is uniquely set in the mountainous countryside with majestic views across the escarpment and into the Lowveld. Conveniently located on the “Panorama Route”, Misty Mountain is an ideal launching pad for touring the Mpumalanga Escarpment, which includes God’s Window, The Pinnacle, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Blyde River Canyon. It is also close to the world-renowned Kruger National Park and adjacent private game reserves.

It's with mixed emotion that I'm writing this review.......Don't stress nothing bad at all. It's more a case of us being somewhat sad that we had to come home after spending 4 glorious days with you and your crew at the Misty mountain resort over easter It goes without saying that you have a winning formula at your resort. The venu, staff, food, location is amongst the best out there. Add to that your friendliness, hospitality and good old South African smiles, made this a truly remarkable stay, and one we would like to repeat many times over. A special thanks to the management team.....and Mable for this out of this world experience......and the super delicious food that rivals any top restaurant in South Africa...... Also it needs to be mentioned that this places food is seriously good. Your cook have a natural nack for the exact dish you present on your menu. Please send our compliments to him.

We had a great time at Misty Mountain. The staff was very friendly, great meals, picturesque views and a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Well placed to allow you to visit other tourist sites and points of interest.

The food was great, but unfortunately the accommodation was poor there was still food in the fridge from previous visitors, the cupboard door in the kitchen was falling off the hinges and the general maintenance on the unit was poor. The whole unit was looking very tired. There was no soap in the unit and milk and coffee.

Beautiful landscape. The food at the restaurant is very good. Unfortunately the chalet wasn't well serviced. There were bugs on the bed. No cooking facilities. However the staff was very friendly.
