Oslo Beach is situated in the heart of the popular Hibiscus Coast between Port Shepstone and Shelly Beach, an hour's drive from Durban International Airport. Put on the map by the Norwegian Settlers who landed at the Umzimkhulu River Mouth in 1882 to begin farming on their 100 acre allotments. This is South Africa's most favoured beach destination as the east coast is washed by the warm Indian Ocean and has beautiful weather even in the middle of winter.

La Providence is a beautiful home, thoughtfully furnished with every room lovingly appointed to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. The bedrooms spill out onto balconies with magnificent beach views.
The house has direct access to a quiet beach with rock pools and gullies or surf- washed sands. It is so easy to stroll down the path through the coastal dune vegetation for a swim, a walk along the coast or angling off the rocks.

And, should the sun be too hot, to return to the shade of the large Red and White Milkwoods or to relax at the swimming pool with a good book. There is no better way to enjoy the seaside than this. Or one can step out of one's bedroom onto the private balcony and watch the dolphins, whales, sea birds – you cannot get closer without going to sea. In the evening one can relax with a sundowner and watch the moon rising across the water.

Dolphins swimming by during breakfast

Robert is an excellent host! He helped us to find a good restaurant in the evening, prepared a lovely breakfast and helped us out with the internet. The house itself is beautiful located, almost on the beach. We could see the dolphins swimming by when having breakfast. If you are an early bird (and even when you not), I would definitely recommend to watch the sunrise. One of the best place to stay close in this part of SA!

I arrived in the evening, so what a lovely surprise the next morning - a stunning breakfast in beautiful surroundings, with the most amazing view of the sea from the breakfast table. The service and rooms were great too.
