La Boheme Gueshouse is a secluded retreat of relaxed exquisite living, where the Kalahari‘s fascinating beauty meets with elegance, ethnic style and exotic bohemian inspirations... Situated in a residential area and nestled in a vast lush tropical garden with endless views of the Orange River Valley melting into the Kalahari semi-desert, La Boheme Guesthouse offers luxury B&B and Self-catering accommodation within less than 10 minutes drive from Upington town-centre. Owner and hostess Evelyne is from Switzerland, her assistant and "right hand" Izanne is South African. English, French, (Swiss-)German, Italian, Hungarian and Afrikaans spoken.

The eclectic style of La Boheme is interpreted with a harmonious combination of European, African and Oriental influences. The essence of the décor, inspired by the natural surroundings and indigenous elements, reflects a subtle fusion of refined classic finishes and creative artistic expressions. Color touches as vibrant as the African sunsets add spice to the soft creamy and earthy tones echoed throughout the property. Soothing water features, relaxing music and delicate lighting emphasise the blissful and cosy atmosphere of this inviting Retreat. ACCOMMODATION: La Boheme has two double rooms in the residence and a spacious Cottage (with 2 bedrooms, 2 en-suite bathrooms and self-catering facilities) separate from the main building. Decorated and furnished with flair, meticulous attention to detail and a personal signature, the three stylish rooms/units of the Guesthouse feature a wide range of amenities and modern facilities. Each room/unit offers Orange River Valley and/or garden views and is directly accessible from the garden via its own private terrace or verandah.



FACILITES & AMENITIES IN UNITS/ROOMS: Air conditioning / Overhead fan / Heating / Generously stocked mini-bar fridge / Tea & coffee tray / Microwave / Fully equipped kitchenette in Unit No 3 / Basic crockery and cuttlery in Units No 1 + 2 / TV with more than 20 channels (SABC, M-Net, DSTV) / Radio-cassette-CD player / Electronic safe / Gowns, bathrobes / Hair-dryer / 100 % Percale linen / Magazines. Bathrooms: Toiletries, heated towel rail (Units No 1 + 3), overhead heater (Unit No 2), shaver point (Units No 1 + 3), double basins (Units No 1 + 3).



CATERING - MEALS: B&B or Self-Catering options. The generous breakfast (buffet) is usually served on the main verandah overlooking the garden and the Orange River Valley, or in the dining room nearby the cosy fire place during winter-season. Various additional breakfast options are also available (Champagne brunch, picnic basket, breakfast served in room, etc.). Daytime snacks, afternoon tea with cake, sundowners. For self-catering: Braaï/barbecue areas at disposal. Dining: various restaurants, bistros, pubs, etc. are situated within 3 to 10 minutes drive from the Guesthouse.



LOCATION - UPINGTON - KALAHARI: Set on the banks of the Orange River, Upington is the principle center of the Green Kalahari - malaria-free area - in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. La Bohème Guesthouse is an ideal stop-over to unwind on the way to/from the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (Kalahari Gemsbok Park, 245km), the Augrabies Falls National Park (120km), Springbok & Namaqualand (400km) or Namibia (closest border post = 120km)… and a dreamy place to stay for an indulgent breakaway in the heart of the Green Kalahari !
