Enjoyed our stay very much, could not fault the enthusiasm of the staff especially our ranger Natasha. Lodge was comfortable and clean but needs a bit updating, especially the bathroom.

Accommodation Kariega Lodge: Our family friendly Kariega Lodge comprises luxurious and spacious log chalets, all en-suite with their own viewing decks and some with private pools. Ukhozi Lodge: A luxury Lodge which accommodates 20 guests in 10 superbly appointed suites, crafted from log, with panoramic views from private viewing decks. The Lodge boasts unique African-style lounges, dining area and boma with an outdoor heated pool. Here guests can unwind in front of warm log fires, enjoy sumptuous cuisine or simply share experiences of the African bush. Children over 10 years are welcome.
The Homestead: The Homestead is a newly restored and extended 100 year old farmhouse with 5 spaceous and comfortable bedrooms, all en-suite, bar, swimming pool, satellite TV and playroom for the children, it's own 4x4 safari vehice, game ranger and chef. It is set in a remote part of the reserve with spectacular views and is perfect for the sole use of a family or group of up to 10 persons who can enjoy a highly exclusive and unique safari experience tailored to their own needs.
River Lodge: River Lodge accommodates 20 guests in 10 superbly appointed thatched suites. All suites have en-suite bathrooms with spacious showers and ornate baths. The suites are air-conditioned with ceiling fans, satellite TV and mini bars. The Lodge, which sweeps down the banks of the Bushmans River, offers guests unsurpassed luxury, hospitality and cuisine. Guests can take in the spectacular views of the Bushmans River Valley, while relaxing in the comfort of a unique ambiance. Children over 10 years are welcome.

Due to the diversity of activities on offer at River Lodge, anything from 2 to 5 nights can be enjoyed, however, a minimum 2 night stay is highly recommended for your ultimate safari experience.
Arrival time at the reserve is 12h30. After lunch you can relax and take in the magnificent views from your chalet or luxury suite.
At 16h00 you are collected by an experienced Ranger in an open vehicle and you set out into the lodge for an evening safari. Kariega is home to abundant birdlife and game and you will enjoy wonderful sightings of Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Hippo, Giraffe, Zebra and numerous antelope species. Sundowners are served in the tranquil surroundings of the African bushveld and you then return to the Lodge where you can unwind in front of warm log fires and enjoy sumptuous cuisine.
Awaken to the beauty of Africa and depart at 6h30 for a combined game drive and river cruise meandering down the Kariega River.
Enjoy a late breakfast at approximately 9h30, upon your return to the Lodge. Between breakfast and lunch you can simply relax or choose between a host of additional activities: Numerous hiking trails, guided or unguided Game viewing on mountain bikes Canoeing safari on the Kariega River
After lunch you can enjoy a siesta and at 16h00 you once again depart on a game drive, followed by dinner in your Lodge or outdoor boma. Check-out is approximately 10h00.

Kariega Game Reserve comprises luxurious and spacious, fully serviced log chalets, all en-suite with their own viewing decks and some with private pools. (option to have chalet with pool subject to availability)
The chalets are fully air-conditioned and are decorated in an ethnic style, are very spacious and enjoy complete privacy and spectacular views. From your deck listen for the cry of the African Fish Eagle or in the comfort of your chalet, revel in the stillness and silence as night falls over Kariega Game Reserve.
Includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, lounge, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, and fireplace and braai facilities.

River Lodge Suite (10) | |
| Nestled on the banks of the Bushmans River, this 5-star quality Lodge comprises 10 superbly appointed thatched suites accommodating 20 guests.
All suites have en-suite bathrooms with spacious showers and ornate baths. The suites are air-conditioned with ceiling fans and mini bars.
The Lodge, which overhangs the river, offers exclusivity, comfort and spectacular views and apart from wonderful game viewing, unique features include excellent river fishing and crabbing. Satellite TV in Main Lodge.
