Facilities

We are a 15 room Lodge located on the banks of the mighty Rufiji River. We have been open since October 2008 and our aim is to provide the best service for a bush lodge in the Selous. The Selous National Park is the largest in the Africa, and provides a unique experience for all those who visit. Selous, which is in the south eastern area of Tanzania, covers 55,000 square miles, an area larger than Switzerland or twice the size of Massachusetts.

Jimbiza Lodge is in the buffer zone of The Selous National Park, right on the banks of the Rufiji River and four kilometres from Mtemere Gate.

All our rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. We have three different types of rooms that are all good in their own way. Bandas has a stylish design, smaller but provides a secure feeling. Netting ceilings keep you close to nature. A nice view of the river. Our Riverside Tents are large and spacious, giving you the feeling that you are right next to nature. They all have views directly onto the river. Treetops are smaller than the Riverside Tents, but are more secluded in the middle of the bush high up on a platform. Definitely an option for those who want more privacy.

The staff of Jimbiza Lodge give us some fantastic safari-moments: a professional guide (Emmy), a sympathic cardriver, Alan at the reception, and last but not least the woman who let us enjoy delicious meals. We have only good memories of these three days. Jimbiza Lodge and his staff are fantastic.

These Tents are large and spacious, with wood flooring and lots of space. Many families use them as they can sleep at least three people. The bathroom is connected and has a large shower. They all have stunning views of the river.
