We went to Hippo River Lodge in February 2007 with friends from Wales. Marietha was a tremendous hostess, she made us feel very welcome and comfortable. It was amazing to see & hear the hippos in the river. There is so much to see & do in the area. We took a boat trip on the Blyde Dam, visited the cheeta breeding project and my friends loved "haggling" at the stalls along the road.

When we arrived, we were supprised to see the effort that was made to make us feel at home. The lodge and the surrounding area was beautiful. We had a small problem with the water and when I phoned it was recified right away and we got some additional days complimentary.
We would definitely go back their again.

Description
Situated close to Hoedspruit in 'The Valley Of The Olifants' is Hippo River Lodge. We offer a very neat and comfortable 3 and a 2 bedroom thatched house next to the Olifants River, positioned within the Game Reserve.
Tours and transfers can be arranged with prior notice.
Situated 22km North from Hoedspruit and less than a hours drive from the Kruger National Park.
Laundry and dry cleaning services are available on request at an additional cost.
Cleaning of the house, making of beds and washing dishes done daily except on Sundays.
