Description

An experience away from home does not have to mean doing without. At Hawane Resort, we try to make you as comfortable as possible whether your comfort includes a good book at the pool, archery or horse or mountain bike riding. Our well-stocked toy-box for all ages has a variety of entertainment from board games and DStv to more vigorous outdoor fun. Kids games and babysitting services. We also have a small shop for the little things...sweets, smokes, books, sun block and souvenirs as well.

Our 22 thatched luxury en-suite chalets are a fascinating, inspired blend of traditional Swazi materials and glass panelled front walls creating a delicious combination of warmth and light. Waterways meander through the indigenous landscaped gardens enclosed by a serpentine braided wattle fence.

The feather pillows and down duvets, sheen and linen mixed with hessian and printed cloth complete the cultural/contemporary synthesis unique to our style. Each chalet sleeps two in single or double bed configurations.

The barn backpackers is a beautiful high-ceilinged converted horse stables that has been transformed into a funky dormitory style hostel with showers, toilets and kitchen facilities. We can stable 22 people in 11 twin cubicles, bed configurations are up to the occupants. We provide the linen, blankets, towels and the gorgeous views. Visitors are welcome to make use of the resort restaurant, babysitting facilities, playground and games rooms.

Our renowned restaurant, run by the well-known Ugandan chef, Richard Warangoloo is not only a culinary delight, It is part of the Hawane experience. Thatch, intertwined wood and our huge central fireplace provide the warmth while our step down glass porch with seating brings in the light.

African-fusion cuisine from across the continent grace the menu with a wide selection of vegetarian and spiced dishes to suit all palettes. Feel free to sample something special from our wine cellar. Our hand-picked selection of South African wines and spirits are there for you to enjoy. Kids and bar menus available.

                      23 December 2014

hawane is a nice place, excellent for relaxation vacation but you dont get the activities listed on the internet on site, no tv in rooms

                      10 September 2013

We enjoyed our stay at Hawane. Staff very friendly, restaurant and dinner perfect.

                      04 January 2013

The accommodation was adequate, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The linen could do with a good soak before laundering, the bar ran out of wine, the swimming pool was not working for the entire four days over New Year. Absolutely no attempt was made to encourage any new year atmosphere. Food was tasty but cold, breakfast was served on cold plates - overall not a great stay. Refer also to my comments re the Lightleys Houseboat nonexperience.

                      03 September 2012

Just need good house keeping with proper garden management. Its a lovely place but lacks maintance. What you see advertised on internet is not there in real life.

                      20 July 2012

We were very happy with our stay at Hawane Resort. Our teen-boys loved the horses, the trampoline and of course the accomodation itsself. The hutt was very comfortable, nobel and gorgeous. The staff is very friendly- in other words no complaints at all! Also Swaziland is worth a stay- lot's of thing can be done there. We ejoyed our time there so much.
