Refreshing drinks are served in the characterful fully licensed pub or on the shady stoep - an ideal spot to observe Karoo country town life.

Cool off in the swimming pool or laze in the tree-filled hotel garden. In winter, the snug lounge with its supply of interesting books and games makes a relaxing spot to unwind.

The Hanover Lodge Hotel is the only example of an Art Deco styled building in the town where the mostly typical Karoo-style architecture dating from the 1800's makes for an interesting stroll around the town - the Dutch Reformed Church is a particularly beautiful building. The hotel provides off-street parking, child and pet friendly, family, pensioner rates, 24-hour reception, quoted rates include bed and breakfast, and dinner is on request.

I was four hours delayed on my trip to Cape Town from Johannesburg. I called the staff to advise them that I will only book in at at 21h00. I got there, dead tired, and they had kept supper for me and delivered it to my room with a jug of ice cold water, as I requested, and treated me like a daughter. Awesome little place - not a hotel, a home.

Very pleasant, comfortable and well priced accommodation. A hearty breakfast and a most interesting pub decorated with Karoo sheep farming history. A very pleasant place to break the road trip between Durban and Cape Town.
