Fit for Royalty


Hospitality and accommodation fit for royalty! Everything the heart could desire and then some. Peaceful and quiet yet close to beaches and entertainment. The suite is the most beautiful we have ever had the good fortune to stay in and the view to wake up to in the morning is magnificent! Thank you, Charles and Judy, for an amazing stay at your exquisite house. Please don't change a thing!!

Honeymoon Heaven


We were greeted very warmly and loved our stay. This was the best place we stayed in all of South Africa. Each night we were welcomed to have a drink to meet other guests and were given recommendations on where to eat and what to do. The info pack in the room was full of everything you could ever want to know and proved very useful. A short drive to town and we could walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. I would recommend anyone to stay here!

Overall a fantastic time,


Charles was very attentive and helpful with every request. the house is truly brilliant, great views of the sea and mountains and only a 5 min( max) walk to the beach. The canoeing up the river is a must for views and setting. The picnic that Charles made was first rate. Getting into Plett is also easy, there is a good taxi company that they use which is reliable and also reasonable. All in all a fantastic stay and would love to go back again.

Halcyon offers
guesthouse accommodation with sea-views close within walking distance of
Robberg Beach. Our aim is to provide a comfortable base from which guests can explore the Garden Route from Knysna (35 km west) to Tsitsikamma 50km east). And to be a hospitable establishment to return to when the exploring is done. Hence we offer discounts on stays of three nights+. In this regard, we urge enquirers to use the "Check Availability" button (which appears above the Reviews on this page) to access exact discounted rates and see whether we have availability on your requested nights. Features at Halcyon include: Garage parking, wireless internet access, swimming pool, satellite TV and pool table, and credit card facilities. Living areas at Halcyon are sunny and spacious, and all accommodation, bar the Coral Room, has sea views. Both English and continental breakfasts are served - on the patio beside the pool or on the North terrace, and are included in the rates. Regret no children under 12. And no self-catering facilities. We offer accommodation at three different rates in our suite, our two-bedroom unit and our budget room. Please note our Nautilus Rooms is a two bedroom unit and can take either two, three or four guests. (By clicking on availability for this unit you will be able to get the exact rate given the number in your party.)

A private, spacious suite: fold away doors reveal commanding views across the bay to the Tsitsikamma mountains. A separate dressing room in Beech and Cherrywood, as well as a honeymoon bathroom with large spa and double shower complete this special accommodation. (See thumbnail photos 4 and 5): The Nautilus Rooms is a two bedroom unit with lovely sea-views. It can accommodate a couples, or parties of three or four. The main bedroom (with either twin or king size bed) has its own seating area, and private balcony. It has a seperate bathroom and shower-room, each with its own toilet. The 2nd bedroom also has sea views. Comforts include king size/twin beds TV, DVD, fan, hairdryer and safe). Parties of 3 or 4 travelling together can use the Nautilus Rooms at reasonable rates. (see special deals). Please note when groups of 3 or 4 are in the Nautilus Rooms, the shower and bathroom is no longer en-suite but shared by the group. We regret no children under 12!

The Coral Room 1

{See thumbnail 6): The Coral Room is our budget double room with queen-size bed and en-suite shower. It has a fresh, airy feel to it. With a seperate entrance, the room is also private. French doors open into a serene garden courtyard. (The room does not have sea-views). The Coral Room provides reasonably priced accommodation close to the beach.
