Goblin Creek Manor House

Description

Do you want to spoil yourself & your partner, If so look no further.... At last, a guest house with a difference.

On arrival a welcoming sherry & a huge log fire in the lounge. Each bedroom has its own romantic four poster king sized bed draped with a silk mosquito net and of course a log fire place, own bathroom with old-fashioned ball & claw bath and lots of candles. After settling in, why not pop into one of the many overstuffed couches in front of the fire for liqueurs & a good book.

A lovely protected cove on the South Western shore of St. Helena Bay - one of the only three natural bays on the mainland coastlines of the world where one can see both sunset and sunrise over the sea with wonderful views of the Piketberg mountains which is often snow covered in winter. Though only 150km from the Cape Peninsula, St.Helena Bay has a milder and warmer climate providing ideal conditions for your stay.

Even Vasco dea Gama, the Portuguese explore/sailor who visited these fair shores in 1497, realized the peace of this quiet haven, as do calving whales who come from August to years end and also large schools of dolphins - often seen leaping and chasing close by.

Well situated for day visits to the West Coast National Park, Cape Columbine Nature Reserve and the quaint fishing village of Paternoster or join a tour of the internationally renowned Pala ontological diggings at the nearby Fossil Park.
A Birdwatcher's paradise, with more than 200 species, visit the hides at Rocher Pan, The Berg River Estuary and Saltpans of Velddrif, as well as the golf club in Vredenberg.

A Botanists dream, with free spring flower veld displays every year or visit the annual Darling and Hope field flower shows. Stroll the white sands and cool off in the safe waters of the bay, the ideal place for water sports. Explore the seafood route or dive the many wrecks and at the end of a perfect day, raise your glass to a spectacular sunset and the promise of yet another breathtaking day.
An ideal rest stop for weary travelers during the week.

Comfortable stay
carol bohlmann, South Africa

Goblin Creek is an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. Elaine is a warm and welcoming hostess, and makes it easy for guests to either self cater or be catered for. Proximity to the fish factory is occasionally problematic, with the generators and smell of fish, but we felt that the value-for-money aspect outweighed the possible downside.

This was one of the most enjoyable stays I have had at any guest house, due to both the ambiance and the charming manners of the hostess, Elaine Richardson.

We spent a wonderful two-day stay at Goblins Creek and can strongly recommend it! Elaine is an amazing host if you are looking for a quiet spot to just chill, this is it. We will definitely go back.
