About Gingerbed Cottage

Gingerbed is a charming and stylish cottage situated on a large property with a beautiful, tranquil garden, in the historical "onderdorp" of Franschhoek. It has its own private entrance, and private courtyard overlooking the garden.

Our rooms are tastefully decorated, with whitewashed floors and white percale linen – it is simple, stylish, and comfortable. It is an open-plan unit with an en-suite bathroom with bath, basin and toilet, and small self-catering kitchen. There is a TV and couch in the bedroom, and guests also have access to the garden pool.

Such a gem of a spot I want to keep it a secret!! If you are looking for an affordable base camp while exploring Franschhoek then this is the place for you. In a nutshell - clean, quiet, central and very reasonably priced. I will definitely be back. Thank you Sue for a lovely stay once again!!!

We had a great weekend stay at the Gingerbread Cottage. It had everything we needed, and more, and we would definitely recommend it. Comfy and cosy, just the right size for us, and so so central. You're right in the centre of town and within walking distance of all the restaurants on the main drag. Thanks Sue for your hospitality!Bronwen & David

This was our second visit to Gingerbed Cottage and once again we weren't disappointed. A self catering cottage flatlet, it's tastefully decorated and has just what one needs for a weekend away. We love the quiet surroundings, owner Sue's beautiful ceramics on the wall and plates, bowls to use, the outside area to enjoy tea and delicious rusks provided by our hosts ... it's a must for anyone needing a bit of 'time out' from the city. Another plus is that it's within two mins walking distance from Franschhoek's main buzz, yet nestled in quiet surrounds. We will be back!

What a beautiful and quiet place to stay, a block away from all the little shops in the main road and a fresh bunch of roses picked from the garden to make us feel welcome! You will definitely see us again!Marzanne and Divan

A lovely little cottage in the most beautiful of gardens, a very short walk from the main street of town. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, the rooms very clean and well maintained. Highly recommended.
