The town is in an excellent position, to be, what is known as a ‘dormitory town’, for the many industrial complexes surrounding the east of Johannesburg.

Heriotvale, Sabenza, Spartan, Croydon, Isando, Jet Park, Kempton Park, Boksburg and others, are all within a radius of some 15-20 Km from Edenvale. While others, such as Sandton, Kew, Benrose and Steeldale are only a little further away.

The town is very close to the Rand Airport and Johannesburg International Airport - in fact it is midway between Johannesburg and the airport and is conveniently close to several major traffic interchanges, providing quick and easy access in almost every direction.

Edenvale remains a very clean and attractive town, well served by many restaurants and facilities. A few kilometers towards Johannesburg is the giant Eastgate shopping mall, one of the largest in the southern hemisphere. Here, the visitor will find every conceivable shopping and entertainment experience, including, of course, many restaurants for every taste. The large cinema complex is regarded as a first-run outlet for Ster Kinekor and consists of 12 cinemas.

Gecko Garden is well placed to serve commercial and casual visitors. The rooms are tastefully furnished and all have spacious showers and hosting cabinets.
