Gairtney Farm Cottage provides a relaxing and comfortable base from which to explore Wild Mountain Country. Gairtney's location is truly special and gives you the feeling of being deep in the mountains, yet it is one of the most accessible farms in the area. Gairtney is situated on the stunningly beautiful Joubert's Pass, just 1 km from the tar road and easily accissible with any vehicle.

This comfortable self-catering cottage has gorgeous views of the dam and mountains, and the beautiful well-maintained gardens are a riot of colour. Gairtney's well-appointed cottage sleeps four and is ideal for families or small groups. Facilities include a double room with adjoining twin room, a comfortable and spacious lounge, a fully-equipped kitchen with electric stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, a bathroom with a bath and separate shower, and a terrace with barbecue area. Guests are also welcome to pick their own vegetables from the veggie garden. The cottage has family-friendly adjoining rooms and parents will be able to truly relax whilst their children run around in freedom and safety, and we offer discounted rates for children under 12.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy in the Eastern Cape Highlands including hiking trails, hunting for partridge or buck, fly-fishing, horse riding, river rafting, mountain bike hire, and scenic drives. The birding is exceptional and trips to the nearby Cape Vulture breeding colony can also be arranged.
