Southern Right Stone Cottage 1

One of a kind, built of hand-packed stone, carried by hand from the mountain cliffs of Sunny Cove, with dark beams and gum poles, lovingly thatched. This magical stone cottage offers unsurpassed, sweeping views from its dormer windows, across the whole of False Bay to the Hottentots Holland mountains beyond.

The stone cottage, is fully self-contained with a well-fitted kitchen and cosy lounge. It sleeps four people in two en-suite bedrooms upstairs and with a shower and the offer of an extra two beds downstairs, can stretch its accommodation to six. This is truly an experience not to be missed.

The main bedroom has PIZAZZ! A queen-size four poster wrought-iron bed invites you to 'lie-in' and watch the seascape through the delightful dormer windows. In the room is a TV, screened Victorian rolltop bath and basin and separate loo.

The second bedroom has twin three-quarter wrought iron beds with a whale theme and a Victorian bathroom, also with victorian bath and loo, en-suite.

Downstairs are the tastefully furnished and sun-filled lounge and an open-plan solid wood kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave, crockery, cutlery, toaster, kettle, etc and large eating bar counter. TV includes SABC, MNet and DSTV. Also downstairs is a shower, basin and loo room.

The Living room has French doors opening directly into A Whale of a Time's wonderfully tranquil garden with its crystal clear, salt water swimming pool and wind-free patio overlooking Fish Hoek Bay. Swim while watching the whales, dolphins, boats and wind-surfers, or chill out with a glass of chilled Cape wine on one of the comfortable cushioned loungers while watching the sunset sky over the bay.

WARNING: Staying in this cottage is an absolutely unique experience and may spoil you for other establishments and become addictive!

Please note there are a number of steps leading down to the Cottage (which is a double-storey) with a spiral staircase leading up to the bedrooms.

Well the name says it all. No higher can you go! Soft, romantic and full of charm, this suite is in a class all its own. It consists of two bedrooms and a large open-plan sun-lounge with fitted kitchen.

The main bedroom, is furnished with a queen-size bed facing out to sea and the glorious sunrise over False Bay. The built-in cupboards are of solid maple. A second sunny bedroom has two single mounted (bunk) beds.The romantic Victorian bathroom has loads of charm with its slipper bath and candelabra, for long ramantic, candlelit soaks.

The Oregon kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, oven and hob, microwave oven, crockery, cutlery, toaster, large eating bar counter etc. and flows through the open-plan lounge, with magnificent sea view , onto the spacious sundeck and lookout balcony.

Eat your breakfast out here, watching the sun rise over False Bay or sip an apperitif in the evening while watching the fishing boats returning with their catches to the harbour at Kalk Bay. Separate bedrooms overlooking the sea one with queensize bed, and the other with two single bunkbeds. In a class of its own!
