We found it a tranquil spot and Beres a charming and very interesting host. The breakfast was excellent. A convenient situation to visit Maropeng, the Sterkfontein Caves and other interesting sites.

We loved our stay at Dodona. There is a tangible tranquility that fills you the moment you arrive, which is reinforced by the homeliness and warmth that permeates the atmosphere. A fantastic break from the city, we did not want to leave!

Magnificent Magaliesberg views frame 'Dodona' and an almost tangible sense of peace is immediately felt upon arrival. It is rustic and indeed a bit on the ‘wild side’! Jackals often call at night, and the barking of baboons echoes across the valley. |

The farm has been in the family for over 150 years; it has magnificent views over the Magaliesberg Mountains, amongst the oldest in the world, in an environment renowned for its peace, tranquillity, and bird-life.
Situated just an hour from Johannesburg, there are exciting private game farms to visit, art & craft routes, the world heritage site: 'The Cradle of Humankind' and Anglo-Boer War battlefields to explore.
Hot air balloon safaris golf and horse riding can be arranged nearby.
Hospitality and personal attention, in an age when these are fast disappearing, are the hallmark of 'Dodona'.
