Good stay
We had a good one night stay on our way to Durban airport in Chartwell House. It is very nicely situated in the cool hills above Durban and the hosts are very friendly.

A Mediterranean style villa set in the cooler hills of Assagay, above Durban. We welcome business and leisure travellers with warm hospitality, generous comfort and friendly, efficient service. We have 6 rooms which include 3 individually decorated double en suite bedrooms, a luxury honeymoon suite, spacious family room and a small self catering unit. All rooms have TV, hairdryer, tea / coffee and complimentary toiletries. Spacious lounges, a cosy bar, private courtyard with a tranquil pool and a quiet reading room are there for your enjoyment. Use of a well equipped business centre is also available on request. A full English breakfast is served daily in the elegant, relaxing dining room. We host business and recreational functions. Our air-conditioned functions room accommodates up to 60 guests, with media projector, flip chart, whiteboards etc. A small library, business facilities, toilets and breakaway areas are adjacent. Spacious dining bar and lounging areas are for our guests comfort and use. A wonderful selection of activities and interests define the area as a major tourist attraction. A unique blend of natural beauty and adventure, Zulu culture and colonial tradition, hospitality and exciting shopping opportunities, this area is often called `The Valley of Dreams’.

Our double rooms are well appointed and attractively furnished. One is a large, luxurious 'honeymooners' room with a private patio. The others are smaller, but very comfortable, all with en suites, Tea and Coffee Trays and TV's. One of the rooms is a small semi-self catering with a private entrance. All the twin beds are able to be converted to king beds.

There is a large bathroom with spa bath (big enough for 2) Only a teaspoon of foam or you will end up feeling like you are in a cup of Cappuccino. There will be erl coming Champagne and fruit and sweet bowl. Candal light and floral petals complete the abienace for the romantic evening. You will love it as will your partner. The effect is even better if you can keep it a secret!
