Description
Carisbrooke is situated in the quaint seaside village of St James, within walking distance to the antique shops and restaurants of Kalk Bay. St James is en route to Cape Point and a mere 30 minutes from the city centre of Cape Town.
The dwelling dates back to the late 1800's and is mostly in its original form, including gorgeous teak floors, while the front verandah and bathrooms have been tastefully upgraded. The ocean front house is a ten minute walk away from the white sand beach at Muizenberg, and a ten minute walk from the Dalebrooke tidal pool. The best surfing reefs are also within these limits, with Muizenberg Corner being a great place for beginners.
A supermarket and several restaurants are also within walking distance, and the quaint fishing village of Kalk Bay, with its range of collectibles, gifts and a varied village-style shopping experience, only a fifteen minute walk away.
Cape Town International Airport is 20 to 30 minute drive away, depending on the route taken, and you may also make use of our shuttle service on prior arrangement. A cleaning service is provided on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, excluding public holidays. Extra cleaning service can be arranged at an additional fee.

Fun: Boulders penguin sanctuary 15 min drive away, where you can enjoy the day on the private beach and swim with the penguins.
Water slide a 5 min away in Muizenberg
Beach: The view in a Southern arc of 145 degrees and is overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and False Bay. St James Beach, tidal pool and more is a 5 minute walk away.
Surfers paradise in Muizenberg 5 min drive away.
Historical & Cultural: Rhodes Cottage. Cecil John Rhodes home is a tribute to him. The Rhodes Cottage is located on a hillside overlooking False Bay and it is part of the seaside museum walk.
Outstanding Views: Spectacular views overlooking the Ocean and False Bay and majestic Silvermine Nature Reserve mountains behind the home form part of Table Mountain Nature Reserve. Whales frequent this coastline July/November and can be viewed from the verandah.

The house consists of one master bedroom with two double beds, couch and two chairs, dressing table, and leads onto the veranda with full sea views. The second bedroom comprises of two double beds, dressing table, leads onto patio with full sea views. Third bedroom has two single beds with mountain views. Fourth bedroom has three single beds and a dressing table. Fifth bedroom has one single bed with mountain views. A cot is available for any room. The house has two bathrooms; one with shower over a Victorian ball and claw bath tub, WC and basin and the other bathroom a shower, basin and WC. Lounge with TV and DVD player, leads onto patio with full sea views. Kitchen consists of microwave, fridge freezer, oven, and dishwasher. Laundry room consists of washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and board. Dining room leads onto patio with full sea views. Private garden. Alarm system with armed response.
