The Intu Afrika Kalahari Private Game Reserve offers a variety of activities in the vast Kalahari wilderness. Explore the Thirstland in open 4 x 4 vehicles, be seduced by the charms of an alluring landscape, get up close to lion, giraffe, zebra and other smaller desert animals and birdlife.

Learn more about the African lion and our Kalahari Lion rehabilitation programme. The Kalahari Lion is possibility the toughest lion in the world, and is endemic to the Kalahari Desert.

Seize the opportunity of a sunrise or sunset walk through the rolling red sand dunes, led by a Bushman tracker. Be intrigued by his desert survival secret and hear the history of the ancient San people. As night envelopes the desert sands, the crisp African sky seems to magnify the stars of the constellations.

Camelthorn Kalahari Lodge is set in a secluded valley between two red sand dunes and hidden amongst ancient camelthorn trees. The Lodge consists of a thatched main building, dining area and a boma overlooking a natural stone pool, with each of the 11 double chalets offering air conditioning and private en suite facilities.
