Spa tents are superb
One cannot fail to be impressed with this establishment. The luxury spa tents are superb - but for sure you need to stay more than one night to have the time to use them (which we sadly did not). It's great having the feeling of being in the bush, being so close to free roaming animals with nothing but an electric fence between you and them. And whatever you do, sample plenty of the Nyati JJJ.

Best food !
Good accommodation, both in tents and at lodge especially. Best food we had from at a Safari Lodge whilst in South Africa, especially the bri with Paul at the end of the walk. Jessica especially like the lunches, whilst I could eat Maria’s bread all day long. The fridge in the tent was a good idea, but it needed some drinks in, and cost of drinks would have been nice to know in advance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Buffalo Hills and learnt so much about the animals, conservation, and wicked liquers with strawberry and chilli!
It was certainly the highlight of our stay in South Africa - though the whole holiday was fantastic. Now that we have visited a game reserve and seen the animals (particularly the rhino family) at close quarters we will be following events with close interest and are already glued to any television programme about wildlife in Africa! A malaria-free game reserve, 15 km from Plettenberg Bay and 35 km from Knysna where you'll find buffalo, rhino, giraffe, leopard, wildebeest, sable, kudu, bontebok, eland, impala, bushbuck and over 150 identified bird species. Scheduled safari game walks & 4x4 safari drives include viewing of game, primary indigenous forests & unique fynbos with a tour & tasting at our famous Nyati Distillery and an optional tour of our trainees' snake & reptile centre. Luxury en-suite (4 star graded) accommodation with traditional dinner with your hosts, in the Boma around the fire (under the stars) or in our unique Buffalo restaurant. Rates are inclusive of dinner, bed & breakfast, afternoon game drive and morning game walk and distillery tour. We also offer the Ox-wagon trail which is a 3-night fully portaged hiking trail with all meals inclusive with one night in our Elephant Gorge Lodge with a nocturnal hike after dinner. The Buffalo experience you will remember as a hi-lite of your holiday and by doing so will realize our dream to conserve our unique valley and its heritage.
