Bergplaats Game Farm comprises 9000ha private land on the plains of the Karoo just 60km outside the town of Beaufort West. Set against a mountain backdrop, the farm supports a huge diversity of more than 1000 plant varieties from South Africa’s various biomes - the distinct ecological communities of plants in a particular climatic area. Animals abound, and more than 50 mammal species, over 300 bird species and numerous reptiles and amphibians in this healthy, malaria-free area. Bergplaats serves as a private hunting destination for both local and international visitors and it is also a tranquil retreat for those needing to escape the stresses of city life.

The estate offers basic accommodation in a fully furnished and equipped four-bedroom farmhouse, The Gemsbok Lodge can accommodate up to 12 people. The Private Suite adjacent to Gemsbok Lodge offers 2 bedrooms; a private lounge & kitchen & can accommodate 4 people. Those who want to spend a quiet time communing with God and nature can retreat to a rustic mountain hut set in tranquil surroundings. The mountain hut, known as God's Window, has no electricity and so distinguishes it as an environment of complete simplicity and calm. God's Window can accommodate 6 people.
