Experience a mountain atmosphere with breathtaking views, described as the 'I max Views' of the Drakensberg.
This private destination on a 1600 acre estate enables you to reunite the mind, body and soul, restore the essential “you”. Relax and soak up the 270 degree views of the Drakensberg Escarpment.
Our prized feature is the world famous Amphitheatre, part of a world heritage site. View the second highest waterfall in the world during the summer; take in the breathtaking sunsets as you sit feet up, wine glass in hand.
Two categories of accommodation await you:
Self Catering: Comfortable, rustic, stone and thatch dwellings. Two cottages, sleeping 8 people apiece, fully electrified. 4 bedrooms each, 2 double-bed, 2 single-bed bedrooms; 2 bathrooms. All linen, cutlery and crockery provided. Conveniences include, an open plan lounge and kitchen area, equipped with an oven/ stove and fridges. Log fire places, and a braai/BBQ facility are there to complete the picture. Patio furniture from which to take in our unique and special environment is there for your comfort. Firewood is available.Excellent mountain views.
Cottage 4, sleeps 2, has an en-suite bathroom, a Queen size brass bed, log fireplace in the bedroom and a kitchenette, with 2 patio's and a braai/BBQ facility. Excellent mountain views.
Cottage 2, sleeps 4, 2 en-suite bathrooms, fully equipped kitchenette, lounge with log fireplace, patio and braai (BBQ) facility, views of the Drakensberg mountains.
The Berghouse can accommodate 23 guests. Ideal for those who want to rest over for the weekend before or after tackling a walk through this world class geographical location.
Bed & Breakfast, Dinner Bed and Breakfast offered:
2 comfortable cottages, en-suite, private units, sleeps 2 to 4 guests. Conveniences include: fridge, kettle,microwave and stove, condiments are supplied. Dinner available on request. The B&B units have the following features, a kitchenette, lounge and fireplace. Honeymoon privacy? Don’t go past this!
Activities you can indulge in at the Berghouse include: hiking, horse riding, fishing, four-wheel drive routes, mountain bike trails, bird watching, river swimming, tube and canoeing, night drives with spot light all on the premises; paraglide and hanglide take off site is available (equipment not supplied).
Activities such as horse riding, fishing, 4x4 trekking,tubing, are all subject to prior arrangement with management. Booking is essential.
Enjoy an evening sitting around an open fire on our mini ”Stonehenge” under the wonderful 'Milky Way', listening to the unique African night sounds: Jackal, Owls and Night jars. Take in a thunderstorm over the escarpment in summer – you have to see it to believe it!
The Berg House and Cottages is a well situated destination, only 3 hours from Johannesburg and Durban, and is in close proximity to the Royal National Park. We offer a destination that our guests love to return to! We hope you soon, will be one of them.

Lounge with a fireplace (wood provided), Dinner available on request. B & B R350 for full English/continental DB&B R450, 2 course dinner served in the privacy of your cottage.
