This was great value for money.
This place really is on the beach. The guys there are so friendly and really do look after you. Security controls the street vendor but still allows the guys with fresh sea food and bread in if you looking for some. From our cottage it was a 100m into the sea.
In general the place was spotless and serviced each and everytime someone made a mess. Speak to the owners. They very helpful when it comes to how much stuff should cost, where to do stuff etc.

John, Di and Catharina have a great establishment in Praia da Barra. Our friendly hosts prepared the most delicious prawn curry upon our arrival. The unit was extremely clean, neat and tidy and well equipped. An air-conditioner in the room was a treat since the days and nights are very hot. Bay view Lodge is situated right on the beach. The lodge and estate was designed specifically to give everybody the feeling of space and closeness to the beach.
Location
We have one of the best settings, being on a peninsula, warm tropical weather, no crowds and no traffic.

Beach
All units are within 100m from the flat, sandy beach that beckons you to pitch a beach umbrella, go for a swim in the balmy water, or take a snorkel and fins and explore the wonderful underwater world. Best of all - no crowds.
Family
With the beach being wide, flat and sandy, its ideal for families with young kids, and perfect for older kids to enjoy the waves and to snorkel.
Great Outdoors
Fishing and snorkling are very popular pastimes and at Tofo in particular, the highest concentration of whale sharks in Southern Africa occurs. Scuba diving is very good with a number of reefs in the area.
Relaxation
We do have open space, a wide and uncrowded beach, even at the busiest holiday times. Nothing spoils your view of the sunrises and sunsets, and best of all, the only noise you'll hear are the waves breaking.

Description
At Bay view Lodge and Estate we aim to spoil our guests with "relaxation" in all aspects. We do not have crowds, we do not have noise, BUT, we do have space, l-o-n-g sandy beaches, wonderful underwater scenery a few meters from your doorstep, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and above all, we have time!! The lodge and estate is situated on the northern part of the Inhambane peninsula, at Praia da Barra in Mozambique, with a long sandy beach in front and an estuary behind the lodge. We are approximately 25km from Inhambane town, 20km from the Inhambane international airport and all roads leading to Bay view Lodge and Estate are easily accessible with a normal car - no 4x4 vehicle needed. Although we do not offer scuba diving - our dive center, restaurant and conference center are still to be built - diving and fishing excursions can be arranged. There are also several restaurants in the area, when after a sun downer, you are so relaxed, that the idea of cooking is just too much! Our one-bedroom units are ideal for honeymoon couples, and a group of friends can share several units, enabling everybody to retreat to peace and quiet when so wished. Bay view Lodge offers superior self-catering accommodation, ranging from 1-bedroom to 4-bedroom units, which are fully equipped and serviced and are air-conditioned. Linen is supplied and all beds have mosquito nets. You only have to bring your own beach towels. The units are face-brick buildings with thatch roofs and all floors are tiled. Seven units are completed, with a further twelve to be built in the near future. All the doors, window frames and cupboards are manufactured on site from local hardwood.
