Value for money!

We really enjoyed our stay at Babadaud. We would like to thank Mr. David Cresswell for his hospitality. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. Mr Cresswell is a very interesting man with a good general knowledge of his town and surroundings.Thank you once again.

Babadaud in Hanover

When asked last week by a friend where was I staying overnight on my return journey to Midrand, I said Hanover. My friend laughed and said, but there are only petrol stations and I must admit that when I passed through on my journey to Cape Town, I only noticed the petrol station, although it was nighttime. Anyway, not only is there a B & B, but also a hotel, houses, and shops and of course people. Hanover is a small very quaint farming town; where the only crime is to drive pass this ... more

Description

'Babadaud' offers a quiet, friendly & informal refuge for the undemanding traveler. Set in the northern part of town, a few minutes walk from all of the attractions of the CBD, it is the only overnight accommodation not in the business area.

The walled grounds are peaceful & private.
Gravelled off-street parking area.

The house was home for a local family for 65 years until 1995 when it was bought by David Cresswell, the present owner.

The natural evolution of the property has not been altered by renovations or deliberate period & decor schemes.

The furnishings and decorative fittings complement the higgledy-piggledy nature of the house. As such it is a rare survivor - a naturally evolved dwelling house, warts and all.

Furnishings & fittings are adequate, modest & old fashioned. Works from local artists sometimes adorn the walls.

Guest rooms have en-suite shower or bath. Child & family friendly.

Tobacco use is prohibited throughout 'Babadaud'.
Alcohol is not served. Use of alcohol is discouraged.

Moderate tariff & a wholesome, unfussy cuisine.
Premises are only open to resident guests. All visitors by prior appointment only.

This is a very ordinary dwelling house and is 'nothing special'. Seekers after themed or up market premises are respectfully referred to other accommodation providers who have made good & costly effort to oblige their desires.
