We had a great stay at this hotel - we were a party of 4 in the Red Hot Poker room - a separate cottage away from the main building. The breakfast, location and rooms were very good and the staff all very friendly. Would stay here again / recommend.

Swellendam naturally links the winelands of Stellenbosch, Worcester, Robertson and Bonnievale with the coast and the famous Garden Route, and the inland desert like area of the Little Karoo with the southern most tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas. Whale watching from many parts of the nearby coast between June and November.
Swellendam is within easy reach of the charming towns of Montagu and Barrydale, via the Tradouws pass, both have hot springs. The Bontebok Park and De Hoop Nature Reserve with its many eco-systems are a must. Spectacular horse trails and mountain walks in the Marloth Nature Reserve.
