Amanzi Island Lodge has a private swimming pool and bicycles, canoes and paddle skis for the guests to explore the island and the lagoon.

Leisure Isle is a beautiful, secluded island in the heart of the Knysna lagoon. On the water’s edge, the guesthouse overlooks the lagoon towards the Knysna Heads, two headlands forming the channel through which the Indian Ocean enters the lagoon.

You’ll soon understand why the Lodge was named, quite simply, “Amanzi”, the South African word for water. As it is amanzi that greets you first thing in the morning as you draw your curtains and it's the soft lapping of amanzi against the edge of the island, that lulls you to sleep at night.


ACTIVITIES, SHOPS and RESTAURANTS:
Amanzi Lodge is a 10-minute drive from the heart of Knysna, a bustling town, packed with up-market shops and fine restaurants. Knysna is in the center of the Garden Route, and as such our guesthouse is the perfect base for enjoying and exploring the numerous activities and sights in the area.

Reservations and bookings for lagoon cruises, stream train rides, whale watching, bungy jumping and guided forest tours can gladly be made at our reception.

At the end of the day return to Amanzi Island Lodge for a swim in the lagoon or relax by the pool and unwind as the sun sets behind the Western Headland.
