Amanzi really go the extra mile


An absolute pleasure! The lodge is beautifully furnished; large, comfortable rooms and a lovely lounge with wood fire burning. Breakfasts were generous and top quality. Our hosts really went the extra mile to ensure we had a memorable stay, and I love the extra's like the bicycles to ride around the island.

Well located


The Amanzi Lodge is well located with great views of the The Heads literally at the doorstep. Even the standard rooms provide good quality spacious comfort and you are made to feel very welcome. An excellent example of Western Cape hospitality. Knysna is an excellent centre for exploring the most attractive parts of the Garden Route.

On the shores of the Knysna Lagoon you'll find Amanzi Island Lodge, a tranquil beachhouse on Leisure Isle with spectacular views of the Knysna Heads and Featherbed Nature Reserve. All of our luxurious and spacious lagoon facing bedrooms boast wonderful views and open out either onto a private balcony or onto a deck in the front garden.



After a morning walk around the island, where you’ll encounter the friendliest locals in town (and who could blame them – they live in Paradise!), come back to Amanzi to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast on the balcony. Then head out to explore the many activities that Knysna and the Garden route have to offer. Or spend a day on Leisure Isle relaxing by our swimming pool or dozing under the old milkwood tree where you'll be accompanied by the local birdlife. You’re welcome to take one our bicycles or canoes for a spin to explore the Island.

A free Internet station is available for guests to keep in contact with loved ones, and those who have brought their work with them can access our wireless network. After a hard days relaxation come and join us for a sundowner at our honesty bar and we’ll gladly make dinner reservations for you at one of the nearby restaurants.Credit Cards. Air conditioning. A very sunny and spacious upstairs room on the West side of the lodge that opens out onto a balcony and looks down the side of the lodge towards the lagoon.  The beds can be made up as King or Twins with an optional extra bed for a third person. The en-suite bathroom has a bath, shower and double basins and looks into the boughs of a Milkwood tree.  Air-conditioned.

 Our Superior rooms are the best rooms with the best views in the house! Each spacious room has its own magic and offers guests spectacular views of the lagoon and the Knysna Heads. The rooms open out either onto a private balcony or onto a deck in the front garden. The beds in the Superior rooms are luxurious extra long King beds, and the bathrooms have a bath, double shower and double basins.  Special touches make for additional pampering. Air-conditioned. Perfect for Honeymoons, wedding anniversaries and those who'd just like to treat themselves!
