Wonderful stay at Alpine Heath -

We had a most amazing stay at Alpine Heath resort. Every aspect of our visit was a delight - from the amazing view, to the great hikes, to the nearby horseriding and beautiful river sites where we had frequent picnics. I also made time for a delightful, professional and relaxing facial. Our kids loved the pool and entertainment. We experienced friendly and professional service throughout our stay.

This was my second stay at Alpine Heath it is still as beautiful as ever. But I do feel that there needs to be a bit more control from the Management. The one pool was green the other pool was really not pleasant. My children wanted to rent mountain bikes and on the third visit back, second time they were told everyone was on lunch - not acceptable as far as I am concerned. That the bikes were infact broken. Due to the fact that we cannot allow open braai (barbecue) fires at the chalets, gas braai facilities are available. Booking for gas braais are essential. Those guests wishing to bring their own gas braai equipment are welcome to do so. We also have the open fire braais for guests located near the pool.
Children's Policy : · Children are included in the 6 persons allocation per chalet · If on a DBB or BB basis, children under the age of 12 years have free accommodation, and pay for meals on consumption. Climate : · Summer - the temperature varies from 15 degrees at night to 35 degrees C in the heat of the day and with the average daily thundershowers. · Winter - the temperature varies from night to day. Daytime temperatures are mild normally about 15 degrees C. Night time temperatures are considerably colder dropping to below –02 degrees C. Temperatures drop dramatically just after sunset.
What to Take : October to April, summer clothes, a warm jacket or jersey for the cooler mornings and evenings. May to September, winter clothes. A very warm insulated Jacket for the cold morning and nights. Hats, scarf and gloves are recommended. Comfortable walking shoes track shoes or boots are useful for the hiking trails. Sandals are useful for walking around the resort. Dining : La Gruyeres Restaurant - Open daily for Breakfast and Dinner.
La Brasserie Tavern - Light menu available between 10h00 – 17h00. Can be enjoyed indoors or on the terrace.
In-Suite dining - Selected menu available between 17h00 and 22h00, to be enjoyed in the comfort of your chalet.
Open fire braai situated close to the pool area.
Picnic baskets on request.
