Lovely, clean and comfortable accommodation. Jacaranda Suite has a great extra long king-size bed. Good location for exploring the Winelands. Fiona and Dave were most gracious and Fiona's recommendation of Taste restaurant for dinner was spot on. One of the best dinners we've had in South Africa.

A place where we all wanted to stay longer and want to return to. The cottage is lovely, the garden beautiful and a thank-you to Dave and Fiona for the warm welcome.

Relax and enjoy your holiday in the Winelands of South Africa at Acara.
Situated in the middle of the Winelands, near Stellenbosch, Acara is nestled in a valley called "Happy Vale" amidst scenic vineyards and has beautiful views of the Helderberg Mountains.
The 3 cottages/suites are all beautifully appointed and all have double doors leading to their own terraces or deck area. They all have beautiful views to the sparkling (heated) swimming pool, large gardens and paddocks and of course to the mountains beyond.

A fantastic location for visiting the entire area - from Cape Town to Franschoek & beyond, but yet peaceful and quiet.
Acara normally offer accommodation on a self catering basis - because of the excellent restaurants in the area (there is an award winning restaurant opposite)! But a hamper breakfast can be supplied on request (think warm croissants, fresh juice...)
Dave and Fiona offer exceptional hospitality and can offer suggestions on day trips, restaurants and things to do in the region.
A great base to explore the area, or to simply relax!

Jacaranda suite (1) | |

| The Jacaranda suite has a King bed (extra length), bathroom with shower and kitchenette area with microwave oven, fridge, electric hob etc. There is a small television with satellite TV and PVR – for recording your own programmes and an iPod docking station. Under-floor heating throughout the suite will keep you warm in winter, and the bathroom also has a heated towel rail.
There are double doors opening from the bedroom on to your own terrace with views to the large garden and sparkling (saltwater, solar heated) swimming pool.
The suite is normally offered on a self catering basis, but breakfast can be arranged on request.
It is also possible to rent this suite in conjunction with Lavender Cottage - which is a separate building, but next door to the suite. |

Lavender Cottage (1) | |

| The cottage has 2 bedrooms (one Queen and one twin) and can sleep up to 4 people.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge/freezer and microwave/grill, a modern, tiled bathroom with shower and heated towel rail.
The sitting room and the double bedroom both have double doors opening to the terrace.
Wireless Internet access is available and there is a programmable airconditioning/heating unit in the Queen bedroom.
There is satelite DSTV with PVR in the lounge area (and CD/DVD player) - so you can record your own TV programmes and watch them whenever you wish. There is also an iPod docking station.
Outside the cottage you have your own terrace and garden area and access to the sparkling (saltwater, solar heated) swimming pool.
There are beautiful mountain views and opportunities to relax in the hammock under the willow trees. There is room to park your car directly behind the cottage.

| This luxurious thatched cottage has 2 bedrooms (one King and upstairs, one twin). The main (ensuite) bathroom has bath, separate shower, heated towel rail and underfloor heating. The twin room is upstairs under the thatched roof, and has its own ensuite bathroom with shower.
Both bedrooms have their own programmable airconditioning/heater units.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave/oven, and electric hob. The double volume sitting room has a central open fireplace and DSTV, PVR for recording your own programmes and DVD/CD player. There is also an iPod docking station.
The wrap around deck is accessed from both the bedroom and the sitting room and has beautiful views to your own garden area and to the mountains beyond. And of course, you have access to the sparkling saltwater swimming pool in the main garden.
