Above the Rest B and B and self-catering is situated in the heart of Clarendon and overlooks the beautiful City of Pietermaritzburg. All our rooms are comfortable and tastefully furnished. The establishment backs onto World’s View and boasts a peaceful and tranquil setting with abundant bird life and amazing views over the City.

The property has remote access with secure parking. Both Sunflower Cottage and the Jasmine Room have their own private entrances. Our home away from home is suited for all types of travel, whether it be business or pleasure. Long-term stays can also be arranged. Tea and coffee making facilities are available as well as televisions, fans, heaters and wireless Internet connection. Complimentary home baked teatime treats are provided on a daily basis. Dinner is available on request. Breakfasts are served either on the deck or in the main dining room.

Sunflower Cottage sleeps five and comprises two bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, full bathroom with shower and bath, dining area and spacious lounge and is available on a self-catering or bed and breakfast basis. The Jasmine Room is very spacious and has its own full bathroom en suite with bath and shower and sleeps two.

We are in close proximity to most of the private and high schools, some of Maritzburg’s finest restaurants, the Botanical Gardens, the Royal Show Grounds, Liberty Midlands Mall, and the City Centre. Alexandra Park, The Oval, Harry Gwala Stadium, St Anne’s Hospital, Medi Clinic and Oribi Airport are all within a short distance away. JC Joliffe Swimming Pool 2 km away.

The Drakensburg and Indian Ocean are both less than an hour’s drive away and the Midlands Meander is within easy reach.
