Facilities

The Zambezi Waterfront is situated on the Northern banks of the Zambezi River, approximately 4 km upstream from The Victoria Falls. We cater for all travellers with camping and chalet accommodation.

This establishment is designed to attract the younger more adventurous traveller who wishes to experience the Great Zambezi River, the wonder of the Victoria Falls and its stunning surrounds, without great expense.

The complex boasts a well-serviced campsite set in cool, shady surroundings and caters for the overlanding, backpacking and self-drive market. The Zambezi Waterfront also has 16 standard twin chalets, six of which overlook the river. There are also three executive rooms and four family rooms.

There is a central dining complex with stunning views both up and down river. A raised wooden deck stretches out over the river with a unique plunge pool, an open bar and restaurant area, a reception area and a shop.

The key attraction of the area is obviously the mighty Zambezi. Getting onto the river is a must and, with this in mind, we offer the famous MV Makumbi, a 100-passenger, double-decker cruise boat. Activities available at the Waterfront include game drives through Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, a huge variety of water sports, horse trails, elephant back rides and fishing. Also on offer is bungee jumping, helicopter and micro light flights over the falls, local tours, and sunset river cruises.

A beautifully situated but poorly managed park! The maintenance is very wanting. With a lot of touring parties only one ablution block was partly working with cold showers most of the time. The management's attitude is best described as "take it or leave it". The kitchen staff needs also some professional training. Zambezi-Bream 'grilled' in the fritter is something novel!

We booked and paid for 2 campsites, but the resort was so fully booked and we all had to camp on 1 campsite for 2 days, but it was very nice thank you!

The Adventure Village is a cluster of 3 m x 3 m bow tents built on raised platforms, each with a small deck in front. These are strategically placed in the shady, lawned complex away from the chalets. Each tent is equipped with two beds, an electric light and a fan. This village accommodates 48 guests in 24 tents. Ablution blocks are available.
