Woodpecker Bed and Breakfast

An easy relaxed night at the Woodpecker B@B after a long ride. The dinner that evening was tasty and filling. The room was warm and comfortable with all our needs well taken care of. Eureka is a charming host. Ficksburg is a quaint drop in the eastern Free State. Thanks all for a pleasant stay. The Katse dam road-trip will see us there again.

Everything was very good. Eureka went out of her way to ensure our comfort and was accommodating in the extreme - even to giving us suggestions of what to see and how to get there.

We had a very nice stay and the people were very friendly. We will use this guest house again.

We had a lovely stay at Wooodpecker and Eureka was the perfect hostess. The room was beautifully decorated with attention paid to every little detail. It was a nice base from which to explore the Cherry Festival as well the surrounding area. The farm stalls and restaurants recommended by Eureka were excellent.

I have stayed in many guest houses over the past year but Woodpecker must rate as one of the best value-for-money establishments I have stayed in. Friendly, efficient, clean, comfortable and a real home away from home. Great to wake up with the sound of the birds in the large tree.
